In under two and half years, the University of Vermont (UVM) Office of Research successfully replaced its existing pre-award and compliance systems with Huron’s grants, agreements, institutional review board (IRB), institutional animal care and use committee (IACUC), safety, and conflict of interest (COI) soluções. University of Vermont and Huron’s partnership stemmed from the university’s desire to reduce administrative burden for researchers by deploying modern, integrated software to support the research enterprise. The software provides tools for both faculty and administrative staff to meet the unique roles each performs in the overall process. The new system increases transparency and efficiency, facilitates communication, and helps the university meet the ongoing regulatory changes.

The implementation program spanned approximately two and a half years and was deployed in the order of IRB, COI, safety, IACUC and grants, and in April 2020, UVM kicked off its project for the sixth product, agreements.
